In childhood, we shun the ‘dibber dobber’, or the ‘tattletale’. As we mature into adulthood, we learn to distinguish ‘dobbing’ from an acceptable calling out of wrongdoing. However, in the context of caregiving (whether healthcare or otherwise), speaking up is crucial to safety.
