Falling through the cracks: consumer experiences of primary care

The PaRIS survey is an OECD initiative designed to systematically collect patient-reported data on experiences and outcomes in primary care, particularly among individuals with chronic conditions across OECD countries. The survey reported here collected data from 107,000 patients aged 45 years and older and 1,800 primary care practices across 19 countries.
The report provides an international overview of how primary care meets the needs of people with chronic conditions, using patients' assessments of access, coordination, and outcomes. The findings paint a useful picture for all health and human service organisations (not just primary care) on the consumer experience. Key findings include:
