The purpose of this guide is to provide practical guidance for managers and practitioners responsible for credentialing, and for determining and managing, a health practitioner’s scope of clinical practice.

Safe health care is a goal of all health practitioners and an expectation of the public. To achieve this, health service organisations need to have a system in place to confirm a health practitioner’s credentials and regularly review their scope of clinical practice. This protects both consumers and the treating health practitioners.
