Clinical Governance in Primary Health Care Information Session
At its core, clinical governance is how health services deliver high-quality, safe and effective care. It offers a systematic approach to enhancing care quality. And, if you have been following the news, you will know the royal commissions into aged care and mental health have identified clinical governance failures as contributing to poor health outcomes. Not to mention the central role clinical governance measures play in primary and acute care quality standards.
Indeed, in October 2021, the National Safety and Quality Primary and Community Healthcare Standards were released, including a specific standard focus on clinical governance. In response, and to support our members, we (the Murray PHN) have partnered with the Australasian Institute of Clinical Governance (AICG) to deliver a clinical governance information session.
In the session, AICG Director, Melanie Hay, will chat with GP of the Year 2021, Dr Hung Nguyen, to further explore the application of clinical governance in the primary and community care setting. This information session will be an opportunity to hear about and register your interest to take part in the AICG Applied Clinical Governance workshop.
