Best practice guide to clinical incident management
This guide is a resource to help support individual and organisational learning and to drive quality improvement, in response to patient safety incidents. Organisations may also choose to use the guide to support quality assurance processes.
The aim of clinical incident management is to effectively manage clinical incidents with a view to reducing preventable patient harm. Clinical incident management is an essential component of quality patient care. This guide is designed to be used by those responsible for, or involved in analysing, managing and/or learning from patient safety incidents in any healthcare setting.
